User Guide for Red Note (Xiaohongshu) - For American Users

1. Download the App
Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, search for "Red Note" or "Xiaohongshu," and download the app. When registering with your phone number, please enter "+1" before your phone number (for example: +1 345245xxx), simply adding the international dialing code.

Note: If you are required to complete a picture verification during registration, it is usually to confirm that the user is not a robot or a malicious registrant. Here’s how to complete the verification:

1. Picture Verification: During the email registration process, you may be asked to verify through images. You will be shown several pictures that could include various scenes, objects, animals, etc.
2. Understand the Verification Requirement: The verification will ask you to select images that match specific descriptions, such as "pictures with cars" or "pictures with fruits." Read the instructions carefully before selecting.
3. Select the Correct Images: Choose the images that meet the described requirement. Usually, you can click on the image to select it. You may need to choose one or more images that match the description.
4. Submit the Verification: After selecting the images, click "Confirm" or "Submit" to complete the process. The system will automatically verify if the selected images are correct.
5. Verification Result: If the images are correct, the system will notify you that the verification is successful, and you can continue the registration process. If it fails, you may need to select different images until the verification passes.

2. Fill in Your Information and Complete Registration
Enter your details, set your password, and follow the prompts to finish the registration process.

3. Set Preferences and Explore

• Set Preferences: After logging in, go to the personal settings page, and choose your areas of interest, such as beauty, fashion, travel, fitness, etc. This will help Xiaohongshu recommend personalized content to you.

• Explore Content: Browse videos, photos, and product reviews based on your interests via the homepage recommendations, trending topics, and the search feature. You can also follow popular influencers or hashtags for easy access to relevant content.

4. Interact and Create Content

• Engage with Others: Follow users you like, and interact with posts by liking, commenting, and sharing. You can also reply to other users’ comments to engage in conversations.

• Create and Share Content: Tap the "+" button in the app to upload pictures or videos, add captions, hashtags, etc., and share your life experiences, shopping tips, travel guides, and more. You can also use the app's built-in editing tools to enhance and beautify your images and videos.

5. Shop and Wishlist

• Shopping Features: Xiaohongshu has many product recommendations and shopping links shared by bloggers. You can click these links to directly visit product pages and make purchases.

• Wishlist and Reviews: When you discover a product or lifestyle that interests you, you can mark it as "wishlist" ("种草"). After purchasing and experiencing the product, you can share your feedback and create a "de-wishlist" post ("拔草").
